Razer Lachesis (2007)
$65.00
Released October, 2007
The Pros:Discrete all black design - not gaudy like most gaming mice. Earliest mouse to hit 4000dpi. Attractive packaging.
The Cons:Teflon feet will disintegrate quickly if not used on a soft mousepad / "gaming surface". DPI wars. Buttons opposite of your thumb are hard to get to.
The Lachesis is a mid-range, ambidextrous gaming mouse from Razer, available in blue or white. While the company's lower-end gaming mice utilize infrared sensors, the Lachesis is laser-guided, operating at 4000 dpi to ensure gaming-grade precision.

The mouse is equipped with 9 programmable buttons, more than most of Razer's products. On-board memory allows users to store up to five gaming profiles and use the mouse with different computers without needing to reconfigure settings. Response times are reduced to 1 ms via 1000Hz polling, and users can increase movement speed by adjusting the dpi setting in 125dpi increments.
